Saipem was awarded the new contract by Qatar Energy Corporation

Saipem announced it has received about $4 billion in offshore design, procurement and construction EPC contracts for Qatar Energys QatarEnergy NFPS project.
Saipem, the winner of project for NFPS COMP3 A & B, working scope includes six platforms of EPCI, each platform weighs about 6000 to 7000 tons, and about 100 km diameter of 24 inches and 28 inches corrosion-resistant alloy (CRA) rigid submarine pipeline, 100 kilometers of submarine composite cable, 150 kilometers of fiber optic cable and other undersea facilities.
Saipem said the COMP 3 contract is another mega project following its winning of the NFPS Offshore Compressed Complex (COMP 2) EPC project in October 2022. COMP 2 The project is currently being constructed.
According to other sources,the commercial bid for the scope of work (possibly worth more than $4 billion) will be confirmed later this year.
Qatar is investing in expanding its northern gas fields and is also implementing multi-stage offshore sustainability projects.
Qatar Energy LNG is conducting the bidding process for several northern gas field projects on behalf of its parent company, Qatar Energy Corporation.
